Hook:
Selecting the correct copper alloy filler metal is crucial for achieving sound welds on copper, its alloys, and dissimilar metal combinations. Factors like electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, and joint strength dictate the choice among various copper-based wires.
Product Overview:
Our range of copper and copper alloy welding wires is designed to address different welding and brazing applications, from pure copper joints to specialized surfacing. Available in formats suitable for Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), with standard and customizable packaging options to fit production needs.
Available Products & Specifications:
1. S201 Deoxidized Copper Wire (SCu1898 / ERCu)
This wire is manufactured from specially deoxidized copper with additions of tin, silicon, manganese, and phosphorus. The composition, featuring Cu ≥ 98.0%, aims to provide improved welding performance and reduced porosity. Tin is added to enhance fluidity, while silicon, manganese, and phosphorus act as deoxidizers. It exhibits a melting point of approximately 1020-1050°C.
Primary Application: Used for the GTAW (TIG) welding of deoxidized copper components.
Typical Uses: Includes continuous casting mold copper plates, electrode holders, conducting rolls, busbars, heating elements, copper vessels, and sculptural work.
Standards: GB/T9460-2008 SCu1898 | AWS A5.7 ERCu
Packaging & Customization:
GTAW/TIG Wires: Typically supplied as straight lengths in 10 kg boxes.
GMAW/MIG Wires: Typically supplied in coils/spools of 12.5 kg. Common diameters include 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, and 1.6 mm.
2. S211 Silicon Bronze Wire (HSCuSi / ERCuSi-A)
A bronze wire alloyed with approximately 3% silicon and a small amount of manganese. It has a melting point in the range of 965-1035°C and is recognized for its good weldability and sound mechanical properties in the deposited weld metal.
Primary Application: For welding silicon bronze and brass, as well as for joining these materials to steel. Also used for brazing galvanized steel sheets.
Standards: GB/T9460-2008 HSCuSi | AWS A5.7 ERCuSi-A

GMAW/MIG Wires: Typically supplied in coils/spools of 12.5 kg. Common diameters include 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, and 1.6 mm.
3. S214 Aluminum Bronze Wire (SCu6100A / ERCuAl-Al)
An iron-free aluminum bronze wire with an aluminum content of 7.0-8.5%. It melts between approximately 1030-1040°C. This alloy offers resistance to light abrasion, seawater corrosion, and corrosion from many common acids.
Primary Application: Suitable for cladding aluminum-plated steel, and for weld overlay and repair on marine propellers, wear plates, and bearing surfaces. Also used for joining and overlaying gray cast iron in machinery, chemical, and shipbuilding, and for welding corrosion-resistant aluminum bronzes or brasses.

4. S221 Tin Brass Wire (SCu6810A)
A special brass wire containing tin (0.5-1.0%) and silicon (0.15-0.35%), with a copper content of 59-61% and the remainder zinc. It has a melting point around 890-905°C. The tin aims to improve fluidity, while silicon helps control zinc evaporation, which can contribute to reduced porosity and improved weld appearance.
Primary Application: Can be used as a filler metal for the gas welding of brass and copper. It is also applied for brazing steel and cast iron, and for hardfacing carbide tooling. Additionally, it serves as a material for overlaying low-pressure valve seats and lightly loaded wear surfaces.
